Privacy

This site collects one thing: your email address, and only if you type it into the newsletter form and submit it.

What happens to it

It goes to Beehiiv, the service that sends the field notes, and it is stored there. It is used to send you the newsletter. I do not sell it, rent it, or pass it to anyone else.

Every email carries an unsubscribe link. Clicking it removes you immediately, without asking me. If you would rather I deleted your address outright, email me and I will.

What this site does not do

There are no analytics on this site. No Google Analytics, no tag manager, no advertising pixel, no heatmap, no session recording. There are no third-party scripts and no embedded fonts, so simply reading a page here tells no other company that you visited.

Videos

The video cards show a thumbnail I host on this site, not one loaded from YouTube. Nothing is sent to YouTube while you are reading. If you press play, the video is then loaded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode, and at that point YouTube, and the Google services its player uses, are told you are watching it. That is the only time this site causes a request to another company, and it only happens if you ask for it.

If you would rather not, the "Watch on YouTube" link under each card opens the video on YouTube instead, where the same thing applies.

This site sets no cookies of its own, which is why there is no cookie banner. Beehiiv may set its own when you interact with an email it sends, and that is covered by Beehiiv's privacy policy rather than this one.

Server logs

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which keeps standard request logs the way every web host does. I do not read them for anything beyond whether the site is up.

Links out

Some pages link to pleiadesconsultancy.com and to other companies' sites. Once you click one, that site's privacy policy applies, not this one.
